Why Certification ?
It is time to bring the "art of belly dancing to a new level." One of respect. We are always saying we are not respected in this dance. It is an art but many people don't see it that way. Why? Because we do not have a structured dance system. Our steps and movements must be on a universal level. We must create a format to teach students on a level equal to Ballet, Ballroom, etc.Belly Dancing Teaching Certification
What we have
now is everyone dancing movements that are
basically the same but no one is sure what they
are called. For the past 35 years I have had a
structured teaching technique that works -
The Veda Sereem Teaching Technique
TM. This format
is easy to understand and to teach. This is a
format with names for all steps and movements
using a language we can all understand and
teach. So let's do it.
Every move and step has a name and each level of dance comprises steps and movements that a student should know and dance before moving to the next level. Let's all use those names and bring this dance to the level it deserves. Let's teach the same movements using the same names. I've set it down in writing and I've put it on my instructional dvd's and now I'm going to give it to every dancer that wants it.
That is what certification is all about. Every other dance form - ballet, ballroom, etc., started the same way. Someone set names to pen and paper and said this move is named such and such and everyone must learn the movements correctly before moving to the next level. Certification is the answer. We gain respect by certification. We want to be sure that each student learns steps and movements in the proper format with the proper names and is tested to be sure she receives a certificate before moving to the next level.
The Veda Sereem Teaching Technique TM certification will be valid for one year. Levels I through VI are steps to be a certified instructor in The Veda Sereem Teaching Technique TM. Students cannot skip levels and must be tested in order to go to the next level. If the certificate expires before going to the next level, students will need to be retested in that level before continuing.
Level I Certificate: - All steps and movements on Veda's dvds - Beg I and Beg II
Level II Certificate: - All steps and movements on Veda's dvds - Int I and Veil Beg
Level III Certificate: - All steps and movements on Veda's dvds - Int II and Veil Advance
Level IV Certificate: - All steps and movements on Veda's dvds - Adv I and Strictly Zills

Level V Certificate: - Steps and movements on Veda's dvd - Drum solo and Adv II
Level VI Certificate: - License to teach in The Veda Sereem Teaching Technique TM
Veda's dvds are $34.95 each or see "Discount Deals" on the web page. For each level, students need to know all the steps and movements on the dvds in order to pass the test and go to the next level. A list of steps and movements accompany each dvd. Once you feel you are ready to be tested, contact Veda by email so she can set up an appointment for you to come to her studio for the test. 1. If requested, Veda will review the steps and movements on the dvds to help you pass.
2. She will call out the steps and movements exactly as they appear on the sheet you received with each dvd.
3. She will call out the steps and movements again as you dance to music of your choice. You must be able to dance and know all the movements on the dvds for each level in order to receive your certificate.
If you are from out of town and cannot attend in person, you can have someone record your test on a dvd. Just follow these easy steps:
1. Have someone call out the steps and movements exactly as they appear on the sheet that came with your dvd.
2. Perform to music as someone calls the same steps and movements again. 3. Pay for the certification through pay pal, or mail your check with your dvd to Veda. Veda will review the dvd and if you passed your certificate will be mailed to you.
The fee for each certification level is as follows:
Level I ----$ 100.00
Level II ---$ 100.00
Level III --$ 199.00
Level IV --$ 299.00
Level V ---$ 299.00
Level VI---$ 499.00
License Renewal: The license for The Veda Sereem Teaching Tecnhique TM is good for two years. At the end of the two years, licenses can be renewed by attending a training workshop with Veda. Or, send her a dvd showing your accomplishments such as: your student's dance recital, a workshop or class you are teaching, etc.
